Introducing the Research and Instruction Team

Now that we’re fully staffed, we have officially changed the name of the Core Reference Team to the Terrell Research and Instruction Team. (RIG, the Research and Instruction Group, is the broader committee that incorporates branch library, circulation, and distinctive collections staff who also teach or assist patrons with research.)

+ Alonso Avila, he/él/هو, Outreach and Student Success Librarian

  • Here to help library staff with questions about events, programming, advertising, liaising with staff outside the library, and best practices for helping students feel welcome in the libraries.

+ Clint Baugess, he/him/his, Information Literacy and Assessment Librarian

  • Here to help library staff with questions about teaching, information literacy, reference, using Springshare tools, and public services assessment.

+ Yilin La, she/her/hers, East Asian Studies Librarian

  • Here to help library staff with questions about using East Asian studies collections in research and teaching.

+ Elizabeth Sullivan, she/her/hers, Head of Research and Instruction

  • Here to help library staff with questions about coordinating with the research and instruction team, faculty outreach, or if you’re unsure who to ask.

+ Julie Weir, she/her/hers, Reference and Academic Commons Assistant

  • Here to help library staff with hours updates and questions about advertising events and services, reserving library spaces and library instruction for non-Oberlin classes.

+ Zeb Wimsatt, they/them/theirs, Collections and User Experience

  • Here to help library staff with web updates, using Springshare tools, collection development, conducting user experience testing, and light coding.
