On March 14, the Science Library celebrated Albert Einstein’s 144th birthday as a midterm study break for library patrons. Students enjoyed Einstein-themed sugar cookies, took on a challenging puzzle featuring the iconic Einstein-sticking-out-tongue photograph, and made their best guess on the number of smarties candy (brain food?) in a glass jar in order to win it. They also viewed a collection of Einstein’s journal articles on loan from Special Collections, including an off-print of his original article introducing the theory of relativity. Over 60 students enjoyed the day’s event.
Student feedback was tremendous and it felt good to bring a little joy and fun into the midterm craziness!
Congratulations!
